- Derwent have hard leads and are great for detail work, but they don't blend easily.
- Prismacolour are fantastic for blending, but many of their colours aren't lightfast.
- Luminance are overall quite good, but they're very expensive and hard to find in Oz.
- Polychromos cover all my artistic requirements, but they are quite expensive.
I tried explaining to my husband... If you're a colour pencil artist, there's no such thing as "enough". Each pencil brand I've purchased has its qualities and flaws.

I finally finished me second (and last) entry for this year's EKKA exhibition. It's a sweet little crimson rosella. If you find that the colours of the images in the video don't match up with the final frame, that's because all of them were taken with my iPhone except that last image which was taken with my good SLR camera. The final photo is much more accurate in regards to tones, hues and colours. Try as I might, I had no chance of finishing the branch before the weekend... Detailing is murder and it's doing my head in!
