I finally designed my business cards. With the Queensland Royal Show exhibition coming up, I thought it best to get these done so I can hand them out to those interested. My husband thinks it looks neat... I think it's technical. After seeing some of the lovely, flowing designs that my college friends created for themselves, I look at my own and can't help but notice the many years I spent as a graphic artist influencing the outcome of the design; logo, lines, boxes, shadowing and clean fonts... These smack clearly of companies and brand names! The story of my life, teeter-tottering on a fine edge, walking the fence, with a foothold in two camps; traditional and graphic artist, Canadian living in Australia, imaginative yet pedantically precise... I could go on and on. I guess that's what happens when you have four planets in Libra!

I think every creative person experiences riding this seesaw. On one hand there is the artistic side of you, on the other is the salesperson. It's just uncomfortable because the sales/advertising part is very alien to who you are. I think the card looks fantastic, as it shows both sides of the seesaw (and says, "yes I can create, but I also have enough business sense to finish a job and do it right." :)

Thanks Bev! :) I'm slowly learning the value of my skills. It's taken me a loooooong time to finally "get it".
